How to Check Pension Status on www.cpao.nic.in

CPAO stands for the Central Pension Accounting Office. It disburses the pensions through the channels of the authorised banks. The aim of this process is to give a speedy solution to the pensioners’ grievances.

At the right-hand side, you will find an option for login. Use the option for tracking your grievance status.

Enter the grievance identification number in the box and click the ‘go’ button. In respect of the employees who are retired, following details are required to track the pension status.

  • PPO numbers
  • Date of birth
  • Date of retirement
  • Date of death in the case of deceased pensioners

The grievances can be lodged online as well offline. The manual ways include SMS, fax, and email. A pensioner can also lodge pension grievance by letter, personal visit, and using the toll-free number of CPAO. CPAO receives the grievances and forwards them to the concerned field offices and banks. The pension status is regularly updated on the website.

How to Lodge Pension Grievance Online | Offline

Fill up all the details given in the form. You can also change the details which appear automatically. After submitting the form, you will get a grievance id number. Use this number to track pension status online as shown above.

Other ways of filing pension grievances are as under:

  1. Call a toll-free number 1800-11-77-88 to submit your grievances. This number is dedicated to getting the pensioners’ grievances. Later on, they can follow-up the pension status on this number.
  2. Pensioners can also send their problem related to pension processing to cccpao@nic.in. Do remember to mention your PPO number in the correspondence.
  3. A pensioner can also meet the Dy. The controller of Accounts or Controller of Accounts or Chief Controller. The timings are 4 to 5 PM in the CPAO office on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

In any correspondence related to pension processing grievance, do remember to mention the 12 digit PPO number. Also, mention the date of retirement.
